The KSHSAA Class 6A State Girls Golf Tournament was held on Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th in Salina, KS. The tournament was hosted at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. It’s safe to say that the Girls Golfers of Sunflower League member schools had successful outings. There were four Sunflower League schools who qualified their teams for state including: Olathe East, Olathe Northwest, Olathe West, and Shawnee Mission East.

In the team standings, Sunflower League schools took the top three spots and brought home all three state trophies! The Olathe Northwest Ravens were the 2022 State Champions finishing 1st overall with a team score of 631, the Shawnee Mission East Lancers were the 2022 State Runner Up finishing 2nd overall with a team score of 650, and the Olathe West Owls were the 3rd place finisher with a team score of 651.

In the individual standings, Sunflower League Girls Golfers competed from the following schools: Shawnee Mission East, Lawrence Free State, Olathe Northwest, Olathe West, Olathe East, Mill Valley, Shawnee Mission South, and Olathe North. Golfers from these schools took the top 7 places in the state as well.
1st Place and State Champion: Ella Slicker, Freshman, Shawnee Mission East
2nd Place and State Runner Up (Tied): Claire Berquist, Senior, Lawrence Free State
2nd Place and State Runner Up (Tied): Ingrid Blacketer, Sophomore, Shawnee Mission East
2nd Place and State Runner Up (Tied): Avery Hearshman, Sophomore, Olathe Northwest
5th Place: Savannah Cagle, Freshman, Olathe West
6th Place: Elizabeth Lyons, Senior, Olathe West
7th Place: Claire Sullivan, Sophomore, Olathe Northwest
