The Sunflower League had 14 teams qualify for the KSHSAA Class 6A State Cross Country Meet. There are only 24 team qualifiers between the boys and girls races and the Sunflower League accounted for the majority of them. Teams qualifying included:
Boys: Shawnee Mission East, Olathe East, Olathe South, Gardner Edgerton, Shawnee Mission North, Lawrence Free State, and Shawnee Mission Northwest
Girls: Olathe West, Shawnee Mission East, Olathe North, Lawrence Free State, Mill Valley, Olathe East, and Shawnee Mission Northwest
In the boys race all 7 schools finished in the top 10 overall. Shawnee Mission East was the State Champion, Olathe East was the Runner Up, and Olathe South was the Third Place finisher. Wyatt Haughton, a Senior from Shawnee Mission East, was the Individual State Champion setting a new course record by running a 14:59.65 and was awarded the Tim Timmons award. The Sunflower League runners brought home 13 of the 20 individual medals awarded at state.

In the girls race all 7 schools finished in the top 10 overall. Olathe West was the State Champion for the third straight year and Shawnee Mission East was the Runner Up. Anjali Hocker Singh, a junior from Olathe North, was the Individual State Champion and won her third straight state championship. The Sunflower League runners accounted for 16 of the 20 individual medals that were awarded.
