Congratulations to the Mill Valley Jaguars on claiming the KSHSAA Class 6A Boys Soccer State Championship.
This year’s state soccer tournament featured five Sunflower League Schools. In the East bracket it was Mill Valley, Olathe West, Shawnee Mission East, and Shawnee Mission West. Lawrence Free State competed in the West bracket. The Sunflower League accounted for 5 of the 8 teams that qualified for the state tournament. Olathe West defeated Shawnee Mission West to advance to the final four and Mill Valley defeated Shawnee Mission East to advance to the final four. Lawrence Free State fell to Dodge City in the Quarterfinals. During the Semi-Finals both Sunflower League schools were victorious. Olathe West defeated Dodge City and Mill Valley defeated Washburn Rural to make the 2022 State Championship match a Sunflower League battle. Mill Valley went on to defeat Olathe West 1-0 in the State Championship match.
