Sunflower League schools recently participated in the 2023 KSHSAA Class 6A Girls Swimming and Diving meet on Thursday, May 18th – Saturday, May 20th. Sunflower League schools brought home 2 of 3 state team trophies and the Lawrence Free State Firebirds won their 2nd consecutive State Championship scoring 364 team points. The Shawnee Mission East Lancers also earned a State Third Place trophy by scoring 180 points. The Sunflower League had 11 schools with athletes that scored points at the state meet and 9 schools finished in the top 15 in the team standings. Sunflower League swimmers also accounted for 8 of 12 of the event State Championships!
