Congratulations to the Olathe West Owls who recently claimed the KSHSAA Class 6A Girls Cross Country State Championship!
The Sunflower league sent 4 complete school teams to compete at the state championship meet including, Olathe West, Olathe North, Shawnee Mission East, and Olathe South. Those teams finished overall at:
1st Place: Olathe West
2nd Place: Olathe North
3rd Place: Shawnee Mission East
5th Place: Olathe South
There were also 5 other Sunflower Schools who had individuals run in the race as well including: Mill Valley, Olathe East, Gardner Edgerton, Lawrence Free State, and Shawnee Mission North.
Overall the Sunflower League brought home all three team trophies and had 15 girls place in the top 20 at the state race.
Anjali Hocker Singh, a Senior, from Olathe North was also the individual champion finishing with a time of 17:30.20.
